Mask On, Mask Up

Project Summary

Single use mask usage has risen globally, with estimates that 194 BILLION disposable face masks and gloves used globally PER MONTH. Single use masks are made of polypropylene, polyethylene and vinyl, which take over 450 YEARS to break down completely. With all of that waste, it ends up in landfills or in the ocean. Plastic pollution was a huge problem before the pandemic, now it is accelerating like never before.
